I have a 1993 ST1100 ABS/TCS with 40K on it, and noticed the rt. front fork seal is leaking a bit. I purchsed the bike last year, and don't know when the last time the fork oil was changed or the seals were replaced. My question is, can I just change the fork oil and replace the seals? Are the actual fork springs still good based on this many miles, or should I replace the springs as well?

Bob,

If your springs are stock they are probably too light for you.
I switched my '01 springs @ 54,000 miles to 1.2 kg springs and *really* like the way the front feels now.

I went with 12 and found it to be a bit harsh; so, after a year I drained/flushed and went to 10 wt.
Very pleased.
