My bike (93 ST1100) has a 160/70R/17 on it.

All the suppliers say the Shinko does not make that size (160/70R/17)

So what is everyone using? I read posts that say folks are running the Raven and Verge.

So what size please.

Thanks, CK

My dealer says that the Shinko tires don't last long they just sell to people to burn off at the track. I have not used them myself. I use Bridgstone 020-M 160/70-17 on my ST11's. They are bias tires reinforced for the BMW K1200LT. They are not cheap but they last 12-14,000 miles for me.

You have the correct size fitted at the moment, the only tyres in this size are Bridgestone, Avon and Metzeler.

I currently have a 170/60/17 on the rear - came with the bike, not by choice. Seems to work OK but I understand this size is not as tall as a 160/70/17 so it could be at the expense of some ground clearance. I have a 160/70/17 ready to fit once this one is worn out.

160/70/17 is the correct size and Shinko don't make'em.

The 020-M Bridgestone Bias is a good choice...

Other manufactures include Dunlop and Michelin. Contact Keel Brothers Tires in Lawrenceville, GA for the best internet service and good prices.
