10,000 miles of mostly Texas roads is enough. I have seen some beautiful country but I am ready to be home.

Where are the fatter crayons for coloring

It's relaxing in my garage after riding 72 miles yesterday.

300+ miles of hill country backroads with absolutely no traffic.

Just returned from a 300 mile trip into eastern OK and TX with my wife. Five hours one way so we made the ride both ways early to avoid the heat. Now comes the bug removal.

Rode about 200 miles round trip to get and move the MD tag. Along the way, tried out my new bluetooth intercom / headset. Since I was alone and nobody called, I only got the audio feed from the phone GPS cues, but that was enough. It took quite a number of tries to get the speakers positioned juuuuuuuuust so, and even now one side could use slight adjustment to improve the comfort.

Also confirmed that either I'm a bigger fathead than I used to be (a possibility I cannot altogether dismiss from the realm of possibility) or my head has changed shape (seems less likely) or ... something. I've been noticing for the last several long rides (long = more than four or five hours at a stretch) that my forehead starts to itch, and I feel as though the helmet is pressing on my eye ridges. Of course, as a part-Neanderthal I expect that, but still...

I always, ALWAYS wear a bandanna under the helmet. Keeps the liner cleaner, and also keeps sweat from trickling down into my eyes. It's definitely time for a fresh one, and maybe also time to pull the liner and run it through the wash.

And now, the speakers take up that much more of the space inside the lid. But I like them so I'll make whatever adjustments are needed.

On Sunday, Sep 17, 2017 I rode about a 220 mile round trip to the Antietam Civil War Battlefield National Park.
They were marking the anniversary of the battle that cost 23,000 american lives in less than 12 hours.
Highly recommended to visit. There is a driving tour through the battlefield area that covers almost 10 miles.
The rangers give VERY informative talks about the battle.
