You can buy the cheap one and then return it as the expensive one, they have no way of telling which is which.

I ALMOST DROPPED the '04#2 this morning!

As I was taking it off the centerstand, I pushed it forward and I realized I didn't have the sidestand down when the mirror cover smacked my rollaway and it got REALLY HEAVY!

I managed to pull it back up WITHOUT letting it hit the ground, but it got close, too close!

Re: What did you do with your ST today?

Yesterday I went for a ride to the local Yamaha dealership to pick up parts for a different ride, and here it is demo days. So off i go on a new Z09, FJ09 and a FJR1300. I must say I love my ST1300, but that new FJR is a set above, almost mimicking the ST except for all the farkles we must add were already there and plus many. I found a new love and will be looking for one in the future, as a sister to my black beauty. After that a block away is the Honda shop, and yes, Demo days! I ride a nice Goldwing, and note that It hasn't changed a thing since ? as it was identical to my father in laws wing that is a 2006. Still nice but not yet...The Africa Twin was very unique, as it was DCT and what a mind wrecker without a clutch to stop. Nice bikes tho and a lot of fun for 5 hours in my day. Always rode my STeed back home in the ensuing monsoons and got a bit wet, but thanks to the STuff STopper that I installed, the mud on my way into the acreage didn't get my bike loaded up too bad.

Rode to work (1.4 miles) then to happy hour (~ 3 or 4 miles in the opposite direction; only soda consumed) then made it home a few minutes before what could turn out to be a big thunderstorm. Had a few fat splats on the visor and windshield, but never enough to even fully wet the pavement. While preparing to leave h.h., let the customer (a bike nut in his own right, and FJR owner) have a sit and a crank of the throttle... basically let him give it a thorough once-over in the name of good relations.

Went out to the garage last night to figure out how the mirror plastics come off. Easy enough as I discovered. Tomorrow, the police light mounts get installed with the HID 4" lights. Time to bring daylight to nighttime.

Rode up CA Highway 108 to the closure point at Kennedy Meadows. There was no snow on the ground except a little along the sides of the road where the plows piled it up. They are trying to open up Sonora pass before next weekend. I had a brand new set of T30 GT EVOs on the bike, very easy turn in, felt great.

I replaced the rear brake pads. Not much left on them with 9000 miles on the bike. The front pads still have plenty of meat left on them. I noticed the brake fluid a little low in the rear when I first bought it. Prior owner must have either favored or dragged the rear brake.

Or the SMC isn't fully disengaging and the rears are dragging a bit. Common. What year is the bike?
