PR3 vs PR2

When I replaced my PR2's with the 3's, I noticed 3 noticable improvements right away.

1) When leaned over the 2's felt like they just wanted to keep going, they didn't "hold"
the line. But the 3's stay where you put them. Much better.
2) They absorb bumps better.
3) The bike danced less in windy traffic like around big trucks. But it still dances.

I just returned from a 1600 mile trip from Buffalo to North Carolina and I should have
replaced the front PR3 before the trip. I hit very heavy and windy rain on mountain roads
and even at it's worn out limit, driving very carefully, it never lacked grip once. I was
amazed. I did install a new front PR3 yesterday, and of course the handling is like magic new after
the worn out semi-squared off front was replaced. That's normal, but the wet grip is amazing.

The front had about 11k miles on it. The rear PR3 has about 5-6k and has a lot of life left I think.

I think PR3's are very good tires.

BTW the 2 or 3 will step out a little in the rain when they're toast be careful.
In good condition they are very good in the wet.

OT but worth repeating we're approaching wet leaf season keep the rubber side down. :)

I had PR2s in huge rain on the Calif. and Oregon coast for 3 days and was very satisfied with their wet performance even at 80mph in the rain on 101 and I-5.

Michelin 2 and 3's. I had a chance to ride a buddy's ST 1300 with PR 3's and it was a very noticeable different. The PR 3" were way more responsive in the turns and no "Humming/Buzz" like the PR 2's give off. PR 3's will be my next tire. Dave B

I'm getting ready to replace my PR2's, but in the first 5K on the PR2's I got a lot of SCARY ball bearing dance when passing semi's. Do the PR3's have the same profile? Or is there a "rounder" tire that would be better? Once I wore the PR2's in, the ball bearing dance went away, just hate to start that all over again.

I'm at 12K on the front and rear, Maybe 1K left, so trying to do the research now.

I've run two sets of PR2s and have about 1000 miles on my first set of PR3s. Both designs are outstanding but I have never had the ball bearing dance syndrome you described. The 3s are a step above the 2s in stickiness in the tight twisties. The PR series is my favorite tire out there.

I have an ST1100. I can fit a Michelin PR3 on the front, but can't find the stock size on the rear. Can I use a Bridgestone BT-023 on the rear? I don't want to deviate from the stock size.
