CreSTOC Lite 2013 - 5/31 - 6/2

CreSToc Lite is back at Camp Switzerland. I talked to Jeff Monday and we have our usual sites. VFR and I are planning on riding up Saturday to look at other sites, because of the flies from last year. This is what we have:
1 $15/night/tent, shared site 2 tents
2 $30/night if you want your own
3 BBQ and propane caveman TV have been reserved
4 Because the BBQ will be in the campground, Jeff has requested the people who plan on staying in town, or, are up for the day register. I can make the list from the the registration list. VFR and I visited Jeff this weekend, he is charging the visitors, $6.00 per person day use fee. Also, visitors must leave by 9:00 p.m.
5 He is planning on closing the campground on Sunday at noon. I don't think this is much of problem as most, if not all of us are gone by then.
6 As far as the Saturday BBQ...no clue. We can nail this down in the next week or so.
7 If anyone wants to arrive earlier, Jeff said to just give him a call and let him know you are with ST group and he will honor our rates.

Steve and I will be up there Friday mid afternoon.


It was suggested that this event still go on but be focused more on the Campground rather than load Dan up with being a host again, it's a lot of work and he really bends over backwards when he does this event so I don't think anyone minds him taking a break and not hosting the event this year...

CAMPING ALERT!!!! - CAMP SWITZERLAND *WILL* be OPEN! Maybe!
Sites 21 - 27, he will also try to save 19 & 20, unless someone specifically requests them.
$14.00 per we per person, per night, Friday and Saturday.
$21.00 per night for Saturday only
$33.00 per night, if you want your own site. I will give him a call to get this clarified. I think he may mean, if you want a site away from the reserved sites.
21st century caveman TV is $10.00 per night, plus fuel.

I am trying to get in contact with Camp Switzerland to get this going. We are going to try and reserve the group site across the way from the showers, or, just below. Larry was thinking this may be a better spot to deal with the flies and mosquitos.

I'm thinking we should do something along the lines of a pot luck, this is afterall CreSToc Lite. The camp has BBQ's we can borrow/rent, and, the 20th century caveman tv. As an option, I'm going to give Goodwins a call and see what they have to offer. Last year, the butcher was kind enough to make me a couple of burger patties at no extra charge.

If anyone one has something to add, please feel free.

Last year, North Shore-Forest Service Campground, was the back up campground.
Near Lake Arrowhead. Nevada camped there.

I know this is on a different mountain... but there is a Riverside County park called Hurkey Creek that we had several of my son's Boy Scout Camps at.

They have some large "Tent/Group" areas that I think may work.

It is just south of Idllywild off the 74.
