Someone wanted pictures of my worn out PR3 tires. So here is a tire mileage comparison.

First picture: Front PR3 with 13,747 miles on it compared to a brand new one.

Second picture: Rear PR3 with 11,606 miles on it, compared to a new tire.

The bike has 116000 miles on it with all original suspension.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

I have PR3s on both bikes and after 5K on the '04, the rear tire is not looking like it will make it past 8K...:(

So far I have less than 4K on the '05 and besides the "gummie worm plug", it is not looking as bad as the '04's.

At this point, I'll probably go back to the PR2s, unless I see a better trend on the '05's tires, which will be replaced at 10K, due to the plug.

Thanks for the pics and feedback fellas. I've got a set in my garage I'll be in stalling on my bike soon.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

I just ordered a set of PR3s and I'll be happy if I see 10K out of each. More is just icing. My OEM front looks a little better with 13.5K, but I'm not a particularly aggressive rider and it's a harder compound. So I'm curious as to what kind of mileage they'll get.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

I have 15 or 16 on my PR2's now. I have a set of 3's waiting to be mounted. The 2's have a little life left. Hope I get the same milage out of the 3's. Less cupping would be nice also.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

Just mounted a new PR3 on the rear have a front waiting in the wings. Got right at 10K out of the rear and looks like I'll get13-14K out of the front. Mileage and handleing has been about the same as the PR2s minus the tire/rd. noise.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

How in the world did you get that many miles out of the tire. I only got 8 out of the rear... front still running.

Someone wanted pictures of my worn out PR3 tires. So here is a tire mileage comparison.

Second picture: Rear PR3 with 11,606 miles on it, compared to a new tire.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

I put a PR3 on the front of my 04 and put 8000 on it so far. Looks like it is not even half gone. Still have the PR 2 on the back and that has about 2000 left after 14000 miles so far.

Shame on you Chuck. I see way too much tread left on the outside of those tires. :D I think you can do a little better on this next set.
I have about 8k on my set so far. I need to order another set. I've been happy with them so far. I'll be going to OzarkSTOC in 4 wks. I'll see if I can't finish them off.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

I got 11K out of my last PR3's and 10K on current though front looks like it will out wear the rear by a couple K. I found the PR3's better overall grip than the PR2's and much more confident in the rain.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

12,000 on the PR3 rear just changed it this weekend.
Looks maybe a little worse than the 1st post.

Didn't change the front but it doesn't look near as bad as the 1st post.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

I got 12,400 miles on a rear PR3 with very little tread left. I replaced a front PR3 with 18,000 miles with much tread left. Replaced because of 2k ride ahead.

I'm content to get 6500 out of a set, toss them together, and toss them well before they get that roached.

Re: Tire Milage PR3s

Goodie! I get to try out PR3's now.

Here's my PR2 rear after CalSTOC last weekend. My recollection is around 7.5K miles on it (haven't looked at my records yet).
