I have been following this and I'm interested in the headlight you got off ebay. I was thinking of doing that as well but a little concerned about the quality and finish.

Hey you use to give me a hard time with all the ST's in my garage..
:rofl1:

Well... It doesn't seem to be too bad. I did have a heck of a time installing the headlight motor off one of my old headlights, and since I haven't tried it yet, I'm not sure if that part is working yet or not.

thats ok cause i get to relieve him of the 05.... :D the bike i have been asking for since he got it....
This all, is my son Justin! He is my second oldest and recently moved to Portland from near Tacoma, WA.

He is currently riding a V45 Sabre that he resurrected from a couple of old '82 V45 Sabres my brother, Dave, gave him a few years back.

And believe it or not, he is the only other person, besides me, that has really put any miles on the '05 ... he put on close to 200 miles last Thanksgiving.

lets see 51 days and counting... and its mine.... haha :please1:

Yep, right after I have the :money1::money1::money1::money1: in my hands!

Got some major parts in last night. Cop Cowl Stay...these things have extra braces welded to the ears that hold up the uppercowl and headlight. That should hold those pieces much better than the stock stays do. I've always felt they seemed a little weak. The 2004 blue upper cowl, along with the windshield cowl and the instrument panel all came in too. I got the cowl stay mounted and the speedometer cases replaced and mounted in the instrument panel. But before I attach the headlight and cowls on, I need the correct fasteners, which were just purchased.

ebay Mufflers made it in last night. Look great for what I need, a few scuff marks, but nothing serious. They will go on the 2004, while the 2004 (2010 cop) pipes will go on the 2010. Things are slowly coming together...just need more time to work on them.

Just ordered two sets of PR2s. One will go on the 2004 and the other on the 2010. The 2010 tires will go on the '05.

What is the age of the kids? and Where are you getting your parts...mostly?
LOL.. Justin is 36. (He's not much of a kid any longer! ;)

The others are 37, 33, 29 and 23

Parts are coming from ebay and partzilla. I compared prices and on most of the expensive new parts, Partzilla is cheaper.

Swapping out parts needed from the '04 to the 2010.

DSC00476-s.jpg

I hope to have the 2010 up and ride-able by tomorrow (Monday (5/27)

The bike closest is the '04. I placed the black gas tank from the 2010 on it until I decide to either paint an extra '05 tank I have or buy a new blue one. The 2010 tank has several dents and scratches in it, so it is not going to be used.

That's my plan. I didn't get everything done that I wanted to, so maybe sometime this week. Just need to replace the mufflers, shifter, brake peddle, finish installing the topcase and I think that is about it....

How's a bout a Blue 2010?
