For the last few years, I've been partial to these:

I used to be a died-in-the-wool Combat Lites wearer, but I found that they looked silly with my plaid, baggy shorts, frosted hair and tank top.

These are totally awesome for summer riding, though. They breathe really well, dry quickly, and the straps are fantastic under the toe shifter.

For cold weather, I just go back to my Vans. The girls at Hooters totally dig 'em.

Keep in mind that GoreTex doesn't "breathe" when the outside of the garment or footwear is wet. Water may not get in, but water vapor from your sweaty feet or hands can't escape when the outer layer is saturated. This is why GoreTex gloves leave your hands clammy when you ride in the rain. With GoreTex think "waterproof" or "breathable" but not both.
100% agree to this.

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to add that any boot lined in Gore-Tex should work fine in +100 weather because it has superior breathability. I've worn my Daytona boots in +100 degrees and was fine. The thin Coolmax socks comment is right-on!
