I just noticed that too. Reason is, that pic was taken here at the office before I departed. Sorry about that. But it was HOT riding home.

I've ridden in an indicated 118F, but didn't document it with a picture.

I've gotten to 111? F with the wonderful St. Louis Missery humidtiy to make it even more enjoyable, (last year not the year). This year I did see 100? once I think.

But no documentation.. at those temperatures just get the frigin ride over with and get back in A/C. Commuting by bike does have it's downfall sometimes.

The Manual states 122*... I remember mine blinking at 122* before I rolled off I-10 and shut her down for a while to cool off.

I've observed 123 on numerous occasions.
I don't know, but I suspect that 123 is the highest the ST will record.
If someone knows different please chime in.
Remember, it's a dry heat.....except during the monsoon. :)
While 115-120 is pretty common to those of us with deserts nearby (or all around you in your case) would you agree that 125+ is quite uncommon. I know I've seen it reported on the weather from time to time, but not very often. I've seen 122F driving at the Colorado River, that's the highest I've seen in any vehicle myself. That being said, 123F is a pretty hard one to beat because there just aren't that many opportunities to even find higher temps, and one would have to ask why you'd be out riding in those temps in the first place.

What! That's an injustice similar to the old speedos from 1980-1982 that would only go up to 85mph. I see a farkle opportunity here.

I believe the only time I've seen temps on the bike (ST1300 or K1600GT) above 110, the outside air temps as reported by the weather stations and bank thermometers has actually been lower. The road surfaces pick up a ton of heat and show on our bikes, which leads me to believe that maxing out the bike thermometer should be pretty easy when the reported temp is in the 115 range. It has been hovering around 100 here in Dallas for a few weeks and my bike as been showing 110 - 114 on my commutes to work daily. With the rain we had yesterday morning, the humidity and high temps were a killer.

If I can remember, I'll snap a pic of my thermometer today, assuming of course that I don't have heat-induced memory loss!

On my way back from NatSToc in 2010 I experienced the -- on the high end. Stopping in Needles it was 124, that was a miserable day.

I'm just glad I don't have to ride to SanBurn-arse-dino any longer. Normal temps would be 95F to 106F....makes for a lousy commute...having to use a cooling vest/liner every afternoon! :(

At least here, in San Diego, the afternoon temps for the commute home is usually in the 60-70F range. Although we are now entering the real Summer heat period, until Mid-October.

Darn, forgot to get the photo for last Friday. Was 104 on the ride home and around 90% humidity, but the real killer was the dewpoint at 80. Per our weatherman that's classed as unbearable. Heat index over 120. That was only the second highest I've ridden home in.

You ask Why anyone would ride in that kind of heat?
Why would anyone ride at -15 or -17*F? Because it's still riding. Besides, I do like the heat better than the cold but have been at both ends here in Iowa.
More northern states would do better for coldest ride if the snow stays away. Southern states, especially the SW, would do better for hottest ride. But Iowa seems to able to compete, even if only be in the running, at both ends of the thermometer. Sometimes hot dry, sometimes hot humid, sometimes just plain frigid cold too. OK, I know we don't usually get warmer than 105 very often, but we have had temps up to 118 at least once. :)
