Purchased a used 2007 DL1000 last Thursday. I'm loving it so far! What a difference a couple of hundred Pounds makes.

I notice that every time I ride my Versys. And it's funny that the VStrom crowd views the 1000 as a porker compared to the 650. No matter, the 1000 is a great "light weight" sport tourer with great softroad capabilities...enjoy!

After riding the ST for the last 6 years the DL1000 is anything but a porker to me..

Looks like new in the pictures and a fast color too.:) Welcome to the wonderful world of lighter weight bikes. Seems to be the new trend. Going to have to change the name of the forum if this keeps up. Congrats and enjoy.

Good looking bike Lanny. After riding a ST and a Wing for so long, when I got a 800 triumph if felt like a toy. However, I rode it to Arkstoc and found out that it takes a longer trips just fine. Cruises at 70-80 easily and is comfortable.

Congrats on the purchase, she's a looker. Been riding an 06 for 5 or 6 years now. If you can swing it, the Strom/ST make great pair. Hope you enjoy your new scoot.

Congrats Lanny, good looking V-Strom! What kind of farkles did it come with?
Other than the Panniers & Top Box no farkles to speak of. Just Brand new tires. I've already ordered a 12v socket kit and the fun's about to begin. It's a 2007 with 31,000 miles and in pretty nice shape. Great Price too!:D

Get them duelsport tires off there and put some street tires on it , Makes a Hugh difference,,,
That goes for you DL 650 guys also, They still handle the dirt roads OK...
Raise the forks in the triples or raise the rear end with dogbones to get rid of the weave....
Mike
It came with Michelin Pilot Road 3 Trails on it. Great so far...

How is the vstrom going for you Lanny? have you added many farkles yet?
looking at an 06 myself with a power commander and custom map for bewoulf end cans fitted, it's supposed to sort out any fueling glitches around 3000 rpm,
also have you had any issues with clutch growl/chudder whatever they call it,it was supposed to be an issue on earlier DL1000 's anyway, thanks
