I just put a new set of Michelin Pilot Road 3's on my 2002 ST1100 and noticed that the RPM has risen about 125 to 150 at a given speed. The new tires are:

Front: 120/70 ZR18
Rear: 160/60 ZR18

the old Dunlop's were:

Front: 110/80 V18
Rear: 169/70 V17

Is there any reason to be concerned, e.g., indicated speed difference, reduced fuel mileage, increased wear, lower overall aspect ratio, etc?

Only if you are really pinching your fuel pennies. I would say to just enjoy the performance of the tire and smile all the way to the next fill up.:)

The new front tire should not change the speedo reading but the new back tire is a bit smaller causing the rpm's to go up some. That small an rpm jump shouldn't make much if any difference in mileage on an 1100.

Even with 170/60 the kickstand is a little too long. You have to be careful how you park it. Mine fell over once when I didn't notice the slope. Other than that, no problems. Next time I'm going with the 160/60 to lower it a little more. I've already shortened my kickstand to compensate for my shorter shock.

Good point, I shortened mine about an inch I think. Just cut it below the spring, bevel both ends and have a good welder join them.
