Well, after the accident on Oct 4th I have been thru a mirage of braces, full arm cast (4 weeks), short cast (5 weeks), and back to the brace since b/4 Christmas. But the ole scaphoid in the right hand just wouldn't heal. So after a visit to the hand doc surgeon, he sent me for ex rays and a CT scan. He looked it over and gave a long detailed explanation. Long story short, only way to get it back together is surgery.
And that's right where I'm at. Surgery is scheduled for 9 tomorrow morning. I have to be at Harris in Ft Worth at 7 in the morning. Yikes, that means I have to get up b/4 the suns even up to get there. But if the end results are a good right hand once again, it's worth it to me.
Doc says surgery may last between 4 to 6 hours and he is going to pin the scaphoid back together and do some bone grafts. He explained that after surgery, soft surgical cast and the right hand in the air 24/7 for 2 weeks until I go back for them to remove the stitches and the soft cast. Then it's a hard cast for 10 weeks which he will then remove the hard cast and surgical remove the pins.
I'm all for anything that will get me back to riding. It's been way too long. So until that times arrives, I can only walk thru the garage and look at that beautiful white 03 1100P and that new Lees-ure Lite camping trailer that just came in this week.
