I just noticed that smells are becoming a great irritant, since returning home. Is this normal after surgery?

I've heard that anesthesia can cause a heightened sense of smell in some people. Things return to normal in few weeks.

Sorry I just found this thread, but glad they found you needed a by pass and you got it. When I had mine 8/2012 I had a hard time breathing because I was a smoker until 2 days before my surgery. The healing takes a while, but is soon a distant memory. My taste has changed a lot. No more hot tea, coke, and a long list of other stuff.

Tony,

Glad to hear that things went well, and you're on the road to recovery.

The first milestone has been passed..I have been released by the surgeon. I can now raise my arms over my head and I can carry more then 5 lbs per hand. Damn near everything weighs more then 5 lbs .
This whole process was avoidable, if I only listened to my doctor, so, listen to your doctor.

Strange as to what we hear sometimes. When my doc said you need a triple I quickly agreed, thinking a new triumph. But 4 years later I still have my V-4. Wishing you quick recovery.:)
