Left the darkside for now.
Hope these t-30 tires get at least the same mileage as the OEM 020 stones did for me. 7400 miles from front and rear.
I do like the tread on the T-30 tires.

UPS just delivered my tires. If carcass stiffness equals mileage, these tires will last forever. Going to be fun mounting them tomorrow.

I was wondering about these tires since I first learned of them 2-3 weeks ago. Please keep us posted on the performance/mileage that you get from them.

Will do, as always.

EDIT: Just got both mounted and balanced. Rear WAS a bear! Needed to put small wood blocks at the far side to hold tire in hollow. Never had to do that with any other tire. Could just hold it in with one hand and pry with the other.

Have to wait for rain to stop to break them in.

How were these in price compared to the Michelin PR3?
I have PR3 now but always like tires that get a lot of miles. :)

Check out JakeWilson.com, they have the front for $104.99 and rear for 123.99, with free shipping! I ordered a front on Sunday and had it on Tuesday!

As to the mileage question...

My local Honda Dealer is a distributor the the Cop Bikes, and has extensive service experience, and gets a lot of feedback from the Motors who ride for a living.

He says the worst mileage is the Bridgestone BT 020s.
The best is the Michelin PR3 and PR4.
And in the middle is the B'stone T30 GT and the Pirelli Angel GTs.

This does not take into account road feel or confidence in the rain, just strictly mileage numbers from hard riding Officers.
And they do not use every brand of tire, just a select few models due to liability issues.

Well unless the wear slows down in the second 1/2 of life, the rear will be toast at 4k miles. Currently at 2k miles front is 4/32nds rear at 3/32nds.

This is worse wear than 020 Stones.

Rear Shinko Raven is better than that and much cheaper.

Probably go back to the darkside. It's all about cost per mile for me.

This seems like a silly question, but have you checked that your rear is actually a GT? You'd get more than that out of a non-F BT020 on an ST.

Both front and rear are GT. Either going back to the Darkside or Shinko tires front and rear.

Rear Shinko Raven $86 and 6k miles
Front Shinko 011 $76 and 9+k miles. Both delivered.

Wow, that's just... bad.

Mine were mounted yesterday and have three feet on them. No signs of wear so far. :) Given your experience, I think I'm going to monitor the tread depth carefully, which is something I never felt the urge to do with the 020Fs.

Re: Ordered B'stone T-30 GT tires. Mileage compared to OEM 020???

Well for this set of T30 GT tires I got a new Roadgear talking tire gauge. Trying to maximize tire mileage I ran them at 44 psi. Just today I decided my new gauge reads 2 psi low. So I've been actually running the tires at 46 psi.
Would this kill my mileage? Rear tire wore in the middle.

Re: Ordered B'stone T-30 GT tires. Mileage compared to OEM 020???

I'm getting 18,000 miles out of the rear BT 023 GT and I keep my tires religiously at 43-45 psi cold. I could get a bit more miles out of the front, but I change the tires in pairs. My thinking is any pressure below 42 psi cold wears the tires out prematurely. Also, my tires wear out in the middle first too.
