I recently bought a nice 2005 ST1300. I'm not sure if I am imagining this but it appears that the tank and the fairings are a little different in color. Maybe it was the lighting and the gloomy rainy conditions when I noticed it. Maybe it has something to do with the plastic body and metal tank? Let me know if there is an answer for this or if anyone else has noticed it. Could be mine had a modification to parts. I have seen other photos online and have noticed the same.

Haven't looked any closer since bringing it home and garaging it. The weather has been very wet and its killing me but I parked it and will wait till I can actually enjoy it in nicer weather. Along with it not licensed and registered also stops me from peaking under the cover.

Can't wait though.

That is one nice color that changes with the lighting on it. Unless it has been repainted which I cant believe would be the case. It is the nicest red Honda has ever built.

Seems to vary on the light and viewing angle. I would swear sometimes that mine is the same way, with the tank a half shade lighter .... Other times, she seems to blend together and be a constant color.
All I know is that when I ride, I grin!

(my brother in law threatened to take my Man Card away from me once when I described it as a light burgundy color ... He said no real man knows what "burgundy" is!)

Mine appears the same. As Highrider suggests, take it out in sunlight and check again.

I would too. 2005 ST1300s are not burgundy. 1974 Yamaha RD350As are burgundy.

The DOL always insisted on calling mine purple. I still miss that bike.

Now, where is my Man Card? ;)

I must agree, my 05 color varies with the sun. Not only is it the best color, it is also the fastest...
