All,

The issue has been found as you will see in the photos the SMC is toast

Latest actions

1. Bleed brake system, no issue found, no0 problem solved
2. Removed both sets of brake pads and found odd pattern on right front outside pad
3. Lefts pads were found to be fine no issue
4. Left front caliper was frozen
5. Took apart right caliper and clean guide pins, works fine
6. Removed the SMC ( WHEN THEY SAY GET A GOOD SNAP RING TOOL DO IT, MY WAS OK AND WORKED FOR THIS JOB)
7. SEE PHOTOS IT SAYS IT ALL
8. Ordered new Honda front and rear brakes, springs, clips and a new SMC

Now the waiting process has begun, will update when I put all this together

My thanks go out to IGOFAR, Couplers and all the rest of the ST 1300's owners for there support.

Yuck what a mess. Kudos to you for sticking with it. I enjoyed the adventure vicariously. I'll be keeping a closer eye on my SMC and changing brake and clutch fluid more often. And thanks again for keeping us posted. Happy Safe motoring!!!

Glad you found the problem as that what it sounded like. Now get it installed and bleed it properly and you will be good to go.

Thank you for the advice of going over what was done, that lead me to re-think the process and what I have done. Hence the 1st problem was the SMC and the 2nd problem is the rear brakes.

Thank you for the guidance you and IGOFAR saved the day and I guess a dumb Irishman does not hurt.

Thank You and I will up date when the bike rolls again.

Here is the good photo of the SMC top full of dry powder

All,

I am sorry for not getting back to everyone as the day the parts arrived my father in law was admitted to ICU, and pasted the next day. We have been dealing with the arrangements and so forth. I hope to get this project completed next week, however we shall see.

Again thank you for your support.
