Motorcycle Larry Generation 2 vs 3 risers

I believe I have the 2nd generation product. How does one go about telling the difference?

I had generation 2 and replaced it with generation 3. If I recall correctly the RAM mount ball was located on the flat side with the generation 2 and it was mounted on the angle with the generation 3. I hope I am remembering correctly, I would go look in the garage but I'm out of town right now.

Looking at the photos on the MCL site and reading the description, I believe I have the 3rd gen. The ball is in the exact same location as their photo and perhaps more importantly, the riser measure a full two inches high.

If that is indeed the case, it's back to square one. I was hoping that I had the 2nd generation and the newest revision would cure the cramping I'm having in my shoulders and hands from the bar angle. Looks like the only solution at this point is adjustable heli-risers.
