Just to update you on my new Explorer XC.....at 6800 miles both my fork seals went last weekend. Kinda strange that both would go at the same time, I don't do anything that is extreme with the bike except an occasional wheelie.....At the dealer, getting fixed under warranty.

I'm thinking just a factory assembly issue if they both went.

That's what I was thinking...not upset about it, just funny how both went at exact same time.

Did you perhaps hit a big bump and it blew some oil out (possible fork oil level too high, not enough air cushion)? Or, they got really dirty and there's crud in there? You can clean them with a SealMate or make one from a piece of milk jug or even 35mm film.....
If none of the above happened, then that does seem a bit unusual........

Lots of Trophies have had issues with fork seals. It's odd that they start leaking after just a few hundred miles and don't do it again after they are rebuilt by the dealer. Probably is assembly related.

I'm guessing they got a bad/marginal batch of seals from the supplier. The assembly part is pretty simple, and its easy to tell if the seal isn't properly seated, but anything's possible I guess.

Didn't really hit any big bumps, or did anything that would make me think they would.....just one of those things, I guess.

I was talking to the service manager at the Triumph dealer here. He said the majority of problem he is seeing with the Trophys is the fork seals. He says he thinks it is caused by the factory over filling them. He offered the info in general chat.

Got mine fixed...all under warranty, it seems stiffer than before. I like it so far!
