I cannot understand why some of you guys in the states are getting poor mileage from 023.s.I have run them for 9 years now on the same st 1300 here in Australia. rear tyre at 42 psi =21,000 klms Front tyre at 42psi =24.000 klms. These kilometres hardly ever change. cant wait for the T30. my average speed is a consistant 110 - 115 klms per hr .they are in my opinion brilliant Tyres.I have never changed brands, why would I!.

Everybody rides differently. My ST13 was mainly ridden on my favorite mountain road, in such a way that I called her my ST1300RR.

Average speed has some relevance, but so does how hard, and how often you spin the twist grip.

My right hand is the biggest problem, but that rear tire 023 had the worst wear of any brands I tried.

I have been running them on my ST1300 for years and they offer the best combination of mileage and handling I have found. Pressure is 42psi F&R. I get about 5k out of a rear, about a third more from a front. This is the non GT version.
The only thing I don't like about the 023s is that they are a PITA to mount.

Only 5k? I got 10k on a badly cupped and under inflated rear 023 GT. Bought another set last week.

It is interesting how person "A" says they are awesome with long wear and person "B" says they suck and says PR2's are awesome.
I would tend to think that a person who get's poor wear on 023"s would also get poor wear on PR2's, 3's 4's and everything in between.
But of course this is very scientific site! ;)

I did get better mileage out of the PR2 but the front tires were very noisy off center.

Also remember that different materials used in road construction will affect tire wear. Crushed limestone will cause different wear than crushed granite in asphalt roads and maybe even concrete roads. River rock will cause less wear than crushed rock even if it is harder because it has few sharp edges.

:plus1:
Also the temperature of the asphalt plays a role in wear too.

I thought I was the only one getting 18,000 miles out of a Bridgestone BT 023 GT rear.
Not sure if I'm going to see that kind of mileage on my next set, but hoping it will be close.

Just did a 4000 mile trip to Vegas and back and the temperature in places were in the nineties.
Thinking this set due to these higher temperatures will affect my mileage.
8,000 miles on this set and the rear looks about 50% worn.
