I just took ownership of a Garmin Virb. My question is how many GB micro card do I need for 3 hrs of 1080p HD video? 10GB? 20?

a couple questions asked and answered on owners of this device on Amazon for what it is worth

Hi, i just recently purchased one of these and still am tinkering with the device. I know the maximum storage capacity is 64gb (micro SD). I have a 32gb micro SD. The device stipulates on screen how much recording time is left on the storage. I think its around 3 hours for my 32gb SD. Note - there is no internal storage on the device.Joseph K. answered on July 6, 2014

I
have a 64 Gig drive in the camera. I don't really know how long it will record. The battery usually runs out before the drive fills up. Usually about 3.5 hours for the battery life.

From the website:
One 64GB microSD card = over 7 hours of 1080p HD recording (class 10 recommended. Card not included).

Best in class 2000mAh rechargeable Lithium-ion. Lasts up to 3 hours, recording at 1080p.

thanks for that info. I find 7hrs on one card to be to hard to work with. Lots of fastword/rewind and looking to find 15 minutes of something buried in hour 5 somewhere.
