Yeah, the S20's are new products... two and a half years ago.
They're a canyon/ B- group trackday tire for sport bikes. They generally last 4000- 5000 miles on 600's, and I've been through six or seven sets on my RC51, where they last a grand total of about 3000 miles, give or take. They are absolutely phenomenal, game- changing tires, but they are NOT an ST tire and your ST1300 will chew through them in short order. My ST1300 weighs about 210 lbs. less than yours, and less than 400 miles on the set of S20's I put on it, I can already see they're taking a pounding. Based on how I've seen them wear on my RC and others bikes, and how they're eroding on my ST1300, I'd say if you got yours to go 1500- 1750 miles, I'd be impressed. The upside is that you now have a tire that you will NEVER have to worry about stepping out on you. Performance- wise, they'll blow the 020 out of the water, but wear- wise, they'll barely make it half way through an oil change. Or however long you stretch out your oil change interval.
Next time around, try out the T30's. A friend has them on her SV650, and I'm impressed with them. They're blurring the line between ST tires and sport tires, for sure. I'd feel safe putting them on a sport bike and dragging knee on the track, they're that good. Plus, I hear they last longer than the BT023's. When my S20's are done, I'll be throwing a set of T30's on the bike.
