I was looking through some old papers and files and found some Iron Butt Association Awards from the years 2001 and 2002.

We were traveling in the RV and was spending the winters in Desert Hot Springs, CA.

I decided I would join the IBA and ride the SaddleSore 1000. I ended up riding 1064 miles in less than 24 hours. When I got the list back there was a large amount of riders that also rode the 1000. Even a rider on a Boss Hoss.

The following year I decided to ride the SaddleSore 2000 in less than 48 hours. I ended up riding 2193 miles in less than 48 hours. The list who rode that was real small.

I ended up with these certificates: Saddle Sore 1000 during 2001 and a Bun Burner 1500 and a SaddleSore 2000 during 2002.

Maybe I need to look for more old folders.lol

Mine are framed and on the wall together with their patches and a photo taken during the ride. They make great conversation pieces and when I'm stuck at home... well.... you know.

On my ST1300 I did a Bun Burner Gold 1500, Saddle Sore 2000, and 50CC Quest (2369 miles in 42 hours 30 minutes) combined all on one ride four weeks ago.

But you got me by 24 years LOL.

SS1000 and BB1500 on my NC700 in 2012 and 2014.

Knowing Bob... he probably did it with a broken arm or ruptured spleen... Just to make it interesting.

I frame mine too, but I'm running out of wall space. This year I should qualify for Mile Eater Platinum. I've done 29 certified rides so far, a dozen or so in the extreme category.
Done on a bunch of different bikes, first IBA ride was in 2000. I'm entered in the big dance next year.

I'm just a LD wana-be. I've done several BB1000s, some back when the double nickle was the rule, but never got certified. Garry, I love following the IBR so I'll be watching next year.

Good to have an ST with the big dogs in the 2015 big dance.
Keep me in mind if you need anything in New England.

Dave,
Congrats on your ride(s)
Lots of people complete shorter rides while gaining the larger ride... You are free to claim all the ones you've listed butt many IBA riders have a name for that.. ;)
