Hot in West Texas today (dust devil tried to take me out)

I rode around West Texas a bit today, saw 104 in Amarillo. I saw this dust devil 3 miles away and tried to judge where to stop to get some video. Of course the dust wasn't what it was when it passed over but you can see it was still pretty wide.

But it's a dry heat right???
That would be so much better that it's a dry heat.

Too bad you folks get enough rain to keep them away.

75 and humid on the way to 99 here today. I've lived in Oklahoma for 40 years now. I must still have Pa. blood in my system. I can't take this heat. I'm going to sit inside and look out the window at the dust devils.
A dust devil looks like a tornado. They just don't tear up things.

Didn't make Amarillo this weekend (on the ST), but just east of there in Pampa, riding was good. Heading to NM mountains next weekend.

Enjoy the NM mountains Texan. I'm headed to the LLaano RTE in Texas???

If you haven't rode (or drove) the sunspot highway south out of Cloudcroft it's a good one.

And the Hatch chili peppers are being sold all over. $15 for a big box in the local wally world.
