Does the gas circulate in the tank on an ST1300?

In another month I'll start putting Stabil in gas for bikes and mowers that will be laid up over the winter. Since the ST has two tanks, adding it to the top tank after filling might not get the mixture down to the bottom tank, and putting it in before filling might leave the top tank with not enough Stabil.

Auto fuel injection systems pressurize the system and excess gas is pumped back into the tank, effectively circulating and mixing all the fuel. Does this happen on the ST? Which tank gets the excess from the fuel injection system if this is the case?

The fuel does recirculate from the regulator back in to a fitting at the top of the lower tank.

Best thing to do is run the tank down to as far as you're comfortable, pour in whatever fraction of your fuel stabilizer will cover the 2.5 gallons in the lower tank, fill up, dump in the remainder of the fuel stabilizer and ride it a few miles before you put it away.
