If I pair my phone to this type of unit, can my iTunes play to the GPS and out either Bluetooth or wired audio?

You can run a mini plug cable out of the headphone jack of your iPhone into the the mini plug audio in of the 550... BT does not work for music or GPS between them.
If it worked for the Bluetooth, I'd be very interested ......

Mine does. HTC phone and 550 and Interphone F5, all hooked together with bluetooth. I can listen to the music from the 550 or the phone from Pandora or I (Heart) Radio apps or from the music app in the phone. When the GPS voice comes out, the music just lowers for a second.

You can buy a cheap dongle to use with the 550 and pair them up, which your Interphone F5 is doing... the 550 doesn't have AD2P profile for stereo sound, so even if you could pair them up... it would sound like garbage.
Actually, I just bought a $20 Bluetooth transmitter for my 550 and it plugs into the audio out jack, thus sending stereo sound to my Scala qz. This setup sounds great!

I meant if you could pair them up w/out a dongle, it wouldn't sound good. The dongle is doing the AD2P stereo translation.
Anything you do BT wise w/ the 550 native, is mono.
