Went to start the ST 1300 and it'll start but not run. I hear the fuel pump run when I turn the key on and when I hit the start button the engine starts but dies immediately as if it had no fuel. I haven't troubled shot it yet. Though I'ed put it on the site to see if anyone else had the same problem.

Re: Fuel???

2008. Don't know anything about ground wire recall
I am gong from memory, but I think the ground wire was 2003 and 2004 models.

I assume you have fuel in the tank, I know you do, but had to ask.

Someone here will have a good idea.

Re: Fuel???

How old is the fuel in the bike? Has the bike been sitting? If the bike has been sitting you may have some fuel going bad or the little mice may have found a new home in the "V" of the engine and chewed your injector wires.

My '07 does something like this VERY rarely, but when it does, if I catch it and stay with the throttle, it WILL Idle & run (rough). When this happens, I get the MAP SENSOR F.I. CODE.
But all it needs is a Warmup & Restart, and it runs great all day !! & no more FI's. Have never inspected that Sensor. Always get 45 to 47 mpg.
Do yo get any Codes ??

I have no Fault lights! The bikes starts and only runs for about 5 seconds then it dies as if no fuel? I drove it into the garage and a week later this happen when I went to start it. I have 77,000 miles on it and have had no problems up to this point. The valves were checked at 70,000 miles and all were A-OK. Larry
