I understand (from recently reading another discussion elsewhere) that the Phoenix police department operates ST1300 motorcycles, and they have developed a few inexpensive modifications to minimize heat transfer. You might want to drop around to their motorcycle maintenance facility and inquire, I am sure the techs there would be proud to show off their accomplishments.

Already got the word out CYYJ. I know a few Phoenix guys they are trying to put me in touch with someone in their motors unit.

I went from BMW to the ST1300 and don't regret it.

Beware of the final drive issues of the BMWs...

I've had heat issues with my 05 ST1300, had it tuned, oil, coolant, thermostat changed, removed the inner fairing, had the Honda fairing extenders. Finally the only thing that truly made a difference was installing the Baker Air Wings. It allows me to bring in a ton of fresh air when it is hot and conversely when it is cold I close them and use that heat to stay warm. Get the ST1300, you'll love it……..
