Tap a Talk

Just received the new version of Tap A Talk and now it's useless. I can't even search to see if I'm repeating anyone else.

There appears to be no way of reading the latest post's, as I've seen the same topic all day long at the top of the STO forum. There is no way to keep the "General Topic" of the forum as the first posts I see. The previous app was great, but with this latest update (which I had no control over it installing) is really a disappointment.
I guess my only alternative is to read the forum in the desktop version.

Not sure what your issue is. As of 1 min ago I can do both. The unread and search are still there on mine.

My TapaTalk must have got the same upgrade as the unread tab is now missing and is not as easy to find your way around.

Mike....I can't find the unread tab, when I tap General, I get the ONE post only.
Why do "upgrades" always seem like downgrades?

Yes they took that away I guess, I tried doing a search for that and found nothing like the old unread title. But the newer version does not work like the old version that worked great and was easy to find all unread threads!!

I just spent an hour playing with the new downgraded app. It's really too bad that TapaTalk ruined the joy of reading this forum. I can not read any of the latest posts, only random posts.

That's odd. I'm using TapaTalk on my iPhone 4S with iOS7 and I'm not having any problems, AFAICT. I can go to the Unread section and it shows the same threads in the same order as the What's New section in a browser. The version is 3.2.1

After opening Tapatalk, tap the lower right icon (human). Then tap the ST-Owners forum with your profile image. From there you should have access to all the options via the top left icon (3 horiz bars). HTH.

I had finally reinstalled this app a week or two ago on my newest phone. Then they "upgraded" it and now I'm with the rest of you...useless. It is very tedious trying to navigate to new posts.

For those that are having problems, what phone are you using? Apple, Android, Windows? Also, what version of TaT are you running?

Apple upgrades their OS regularly, deleting features and changing things around. Why should your experience with an app be any different? Surely you have encountered this sort of thing before. And, yes, they call this nonsense 'progress'.

This might be called progress in some peoples mind, but when they take a fully functional app and disable some of it's key features, well, just like Apple.

On the home screen tap the 3 line icon in the upper right and a pop up should show the list of your forum sites. Tap on stowners.

Then tap on the upper right 3 line icon and select unread.

Works for me. But yes, a PITA.

BTW I'm using v3.2.1

I am using a Samsung Galaxy phone from Verizon and after looking around at the new app I have found if you click on tap a talk and then ST-Owners a picture of an engine comes up and the brand ST-Owners about two thirds the way down there are five buttons you can click if you choose the middle one that looks like a WiFi icon that will give you the unread messages.

Thanks Mike, but when I do that it does go to unread but I get categories like General, coffee club, Moonshine, etc. Tap on one and it only shows all post per category. I other words, if I tap Coffee Club it will post all threads in that category, then I have to search for todays post's. I've been over and over the settings which has also changed and there is no way to show latest thread in any category.

On the main banner page that comes up for St-Owners there are 5 icons across the middle of the page. The radar looking icon in the middle is for unread posts. I agree that the new version is terrible.
