HELM Service Manuals overseas shipping cost $$$$$$

Hi

I saw the posts suggesting HELM Inc (USA) as a good source of the Honda service manuals (ST1100A-2000 and Common).

Went to their awful website and then through the painful process of finding the items and moving them into the cart (this is where I really missed Amazon) with a combined cost of $114.90, a bit steep but will be worth it I reckon.

Living in Dubai I accept paying Fedex International costs (just had a package from iFixit , 18lbs weight, box about size of two large catalogues, cost $24)

It was with great surprise that I saw a final bill of ....


Items Subtotal:$114.90
Handling: $ 39.95
Shipping: $185.36
Tax: $ 0.00[HR][/HR]Order Total: $ 340.21

I am doing the wrong day job !!!!

Needless to say I cancelled the order at this point

Can anyone possibly advise the current Honda part numbers, the ones shown on HELM Inc are not yielding anything through my local Honda dealer (I want to try them and see if they are cheaper !)

61MY311 1997-2002 ST1100/ST1100A Service Manual
61CSM00 Common Service Manual

I have the 91-99 ST1100/A Honda Service Manual and its part number is 61MY308. I also have the Clymer ST1100/Pan European 1990-2002 and the Haynes ST1100 90-97 service manuals. This is the first time I heard of the Common Service Manual which is generic and covers all models.

Thank you for the part numbers and links, I was just about to buy from eBay when i had a thought ! went looking for a company in USA that would receive my order and ship to me at more sensible rates. Found a company in Florida who specialise in this service so I now have the latest manuals coming via there.

I did check with Helm and they confirmed that the handling and shipping costs are indeed accurate ! If all goes well I will post the name of the company

My manuals have arrived, took a long time for Helm to get then out. Absolutely no problems whatsoever with my new remailing company in Florida, it's called MuUS. The money i saved in International shipping covers the shipping from Florida to Dubai and my yearly membership. I can now ago on eBay..com as well
