Comfort! period

Several different brand & models of riders. They offer different set backs and height amounts. So have an idea of what you want (try a friends bike) before ordering.
Lot's of used ones to be had too.

Looks like I need to add Bike Quip to the list:

Heli: (aka Tour Performance)
Gen 1: 1" tall, 1.5" rear
Gen 2: HC0303, 1" tall, 2" rear HC0303P 1"tall, 2.5 rear
Gen 3: 2"tall, 2.5" rearward

Genmar: 1.25 tall, 1"back
MCL Riser blocks: 1"tall, .75" back
Bike-Quip: 30mm up, 45mm back (1.2" up, 1.75 back)

LD Comfort for me! I added 3.5" Rox Risers to my ST1100 because my left hand would tingle due to disc/nerve issues in my neck when my head was tilted back with the stock bar position. With the bars raised, I don't have to tilt my head as far back, which relieves that issue. They look a little strange but I've gotten used to that and most importantly, I can ride in comfort now.

+1!

My Helibar 3 riser eliminated pain in my wrists shoulders and lower back. My days of Replica Caf? Racer are long over. I made two 2500+ mile trips one without and one with the Helibar riser and with is much much better.

A secondary benefit of taking the weight of my upper body of my wrists was taking it off the bars. This gave me a lighter feel in the steering which was an unexpected improvement in handling.

Not all bodies are equal, so one position set on a motorcycle does not fit everyone! You have to find what fits you best!

For me it was the Gen 3 Heli riser. Just being able to sit up straighter made a big difference in comfort in my lower back and getting pressure off my wrists.

I'm a new owner of an '05 and haven't had much time in the saddle yet. I put on a Gen III Helibars riser to feel more comfortable. My arms are more relaxed, so I'm more relaxed. I'm 6'2" with long arms.

I am more comfortable with my MCL Bar risers. The bars came up and back; 2" and 2.5" respectively. However, I think the greatest improvement for me was the 4 degree change in grip angle. My wrists are more neutral and are pain free on a long ride.
