ST1300 Throttle

Just traded my ST1100 for a ST1300.. First thing I noticed it the throttle works what I consider hard for a throttle! It has a cruise control on it..
Any help on why that is before I dismantle and try to determine cause?

I'd first check that there's a tiny bit of play in the cables....otherwise probably the cruise control....what kind is it? ff....also if it has risers of some sort make sure the cables are routed properly and theres enough slack in them.

Take a look at where the cruise control ties into the throttle body as it sounds like something is binding up. It should be about the same as the 1100.

Question! Does a 2006 ST1300 have a factory cruise control or is this an after market item?

More than likely aftermarket. Can you post a pic?

Pretty sure no ST has "factory" cruise control.

OK, thanks! Probably the cruise causing the hard throttle! Will remove and see if that helps..

No but I have a throttle rocker I like. Will probably install if the cruise control is the problem.

The reason I asked is because bar end throttle locks can stick....good luck on finding the problem and implementing the cure.....ff
