New Key

Just tried to get a duplicate key made for my ST1300 but the key maker stated the original key for my 2006 had a chip in it!
Had no idea the 2006 key had a computer chip in it! Is this a fact ? These keys have a chip in them???

It if has a chip, no problem... cut off the plastic top of the key and attach it to the new key... no problem If HISS it will work
btw blank is ILCO X265 HD109; Ignition

I believe it will stay HISS right on the ignition switch. Pretty sure I saw that somewhere one.

HISS is the Honda Ignition Security System, a standard feature on the STs sold in some countries other than the US, such as the UK and EU.

As long as you have one key with a chip you can program your own key

I purchased a blank chip and had a key cut on eBay UK for approx ?26

Back in Utah, had a key made and it works. Does not have a chip! No HISS.
