I had to pull the plug on my plans. That last storm has me cornered. I can ride around here (NY), but South and Southwest don't look passable. Let me know how it goes, and thanks again for the invite. I was going to take you up on it

In any case, the invite is always open. In fact, we have some acquaintances that are walking across the country, i.e. the whole US of A. They're now in the DFW area and staying with us tonight.

We have house guest coming in tomorrow or I'd be all over that!!!
No doubt... you're an LD maniac! And, you too get the same invite to stay a night or two if you ever need a place to stay in the area.

I don't think that is possible either, unless I went way West before dropping down. I can't risk being holed up somewhere for a few days (like Mac was in Texas post Stagecoach RTE) as that will kill too much vacation time. I have my fingers crossed for a quick run to Fla next week if we can make it thru Sunday without more snow.

They are two young men that are extended family of mine. They started on the NJ coast in Oct. 2013 and are headed to CA. Here's their blog if anyone's interested.

How was it?? Looked like folks coming in from the West needed to hit the road ASAP afterwards as they were calling for ICE.

It was great. Maybe 40 riders there, some from 1500+ miles away. One came 1974 miles! That guy had completed 6 IBA rallys (11k in 11 days). Those from the West did leave pretty quickly. Lots of stories swapped and I learned quite a bit... got to see and hear how some real LD riders roll.

Yep, that was him. We finally got some no-ride weather here... sleet/rain/ice for a day or two.
