Joe sorry to hear this, but glad that you were not seriously injured. Parking lots bring out the competitive (if not the brain dead) side, of some drivers, saw a man yesterday speeding the wrong way down a parking aisle so he could back in ahead of another car that approaching from the correct direction. Scary.

The guy did stay around but Joe didn't have any details just yet, he's trying to get the police report. He said the car to his right had just left so that space was clear which makes even less sense for all this.
Thanx for the update, at least it ain't a hit and run... still really crazy...
Amazing what the gear will do for ya and glad he's still here to tell us the story.
Yep, never think like "...ah, only going to the store a few blocks down..."...

The title is somewhat of an understatement!

I hope you make a full recovery and that you can also recover your losses.

At the moment we don't have any details on the person that hit Joe so could be one of any number of issues...

Here's a video CNN showed yesterday related to an elderly person in a parking lot... pretty scary.

I have to believe that alcohol and/or drugs (prescription or otherwise) may have been involved in this incident, or a medical condition such as a seizure or stroke. If it was simply a matter of poor eyesight or broken eyeglasses, the old guy would have stopped before crashing into 10 vehicles unless he was otherwise impaired. I would be interested in hearing or seeing the rest of this story. Don't really think "elderly" is sufficient explanation for what happened there.
BTW, I too am very glad to hear that JoeP was able to walk out of the hospital with no broken bones. The scars will heal in due time.

Holy crap. How, at the same time, lucky and unlucky were you? Glad you are even able to relate your story. Could have been so much worse. Heal fast.

I always park out in the end of a parking spot if I can't park in a striped section, because all too often I had had people dive half way into my spot with me thinking it was an open slot. Now I will park so that the back of my bike is even with the bumpers on each side of me.

Let me join the chorus saying we're glad you weren't hurt worse! Sounds like a real beating you took (pinned and then dropped!)

You must be one tough son of a gun. Remind me never to cross you!

Joe,
keep a log off how you feel and note even the smallest pains. Some things take longer to find and healthan others.
Best wishes for a full recovery and that you can get back riding soon.

May we all give thanks for your survival and recovery from such an incredible, life-threatening, careless accident.
The culprit should have to serve your every need--drink of water, fill your gas tank, grocery shop, etc.
It's as if though you were attacked by a 4-wheel terrorist.
May we all wear our helmets no matter what the situation.
I'm dumbfounded and you have my heartfelt prayers.
I hope you're back in the saddle soon.
Be well,:eek::

Glad you're able to fluently write about it - and - happy knowing you'll fully recover.

Truly unfortunate experience.

Please keep us posted with your healing progress.

Thank you,
-Elliot
