Wow! That is some history! I think I'll have to take a ride over some Saturday afternoon.

Great museum. In addition to all the great bikes, I loved the motorcycles in culture displays that are integrated around the whole place.

I had the great privilege of riding Ron Schavrien's Hercules W2000 last year. Now it's on display in the museum.

An "FYI": Museum Hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10:00a-5:00p Admission: Adults $11; Children $5; Under 3 - Free

The Museum has two levels and is chock-full of history - the three hours spent weren't nearly enough to take it all in. It's privately owned, opened a few short years ago, is immaculate, with all exhibits very well kept. Highly recommended !!

Thank you,
-Elliot

Maybe a group ride from New England might be in order?
With a little planning, they just might be amenable to consider a "Group" rate. Also the docent cadre are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Show 'em your passions for motorcycles - and they'll give you the full nine yards !!

Address: 250 Lake Street, Newburgh, NY 12250 Tel: 845-569-9065

Parking is plentiful.

Are there any dining establishments near it? A RTE is sure to draw lots of riders, especially if I can promise pie. A combined museum visit and lunch would be perfect.

Right down the road from me, and agree with Billy Joes. I often thought about calling a RTE there. Parking can be a bit crazy on weekends though. The museum is great. Amazing Indian collection.

Was just talking about the "Hercules" to a few local riders. No-one had ever heard of it, years ago a local dealer had two in his shop and never sold either. This was around 68-69 time frame. We used to call them "Hoovers on wheels"...

Is that where the old Miron Lumber building was?
I was born and raised in Newburgh and lived there for 31 yrs. I don't get back much but this will have to be on the list of things to do while there.

Thanks for the post. I go blasting past Newburgh on I 84 several times per year and now have a reason to stop OR better yet, make a day trip out of it.
