ST1100 Temperature Gauge Error

Hai,

my friend has some problems with his coolant.
After finishing everything, the gauge didnt work.

And while we were looking for which as causing this problem, I held the thermostat against the frame.
Then we found out that the bolt which is keeping the thermostathouse on its place, is the "ground" of the gauge.

This helped some people which were about to rip their bike to find the problem.

Perhaps the english could be somewhat better :D

SOP in automotive work to clean and (copper) lube all kinds of possible ground connections...
Another, often neglected point, is the mains grounding bolt behind the bracket of the main-stand fold out handle (LHS of seat frame); all kinds of weird things will happen if corrosion occurs there.
