We have three guys here in North Bay Ontario (you are passing right through) interested in the Lake Huron ride. One of them is me. We are just trying to get our work schedules to actually "work" for us so we can register.

Well the worst of the rain stayed south of us. Heard from the wife that we had 4" of rain in 5hrs at home. That would have made for a very rough ride. Our weather was good and the route was great. A great mix of roads. 1106 miles in 21 hrs.

Yeah, we missed a required gas stop and had to go back.

We had a total of 36 Riders and three Pillions complete the ride in less than 24 hours.

23 bikes & riders and 3 Pillions started & ended in Imlay City, MI. The balance of the Riders started & ended at other locations near their home. Here is a link to some Pics. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1029353&page=28

30 new IBA numbers will be issued from this ride.

We had 53 Riders and 2 Pillions start the Yooper Madness II SS1K. ALL Riders and passengers finished before 24 hours and two Riders from the U.P. of Michigan, after taking a break in St. Johns, MI ( the ending location ) did another 508 miles to complete a BB1500 ( > 1,500 miles in < 36 hours ) .

32 new IBA numbers will be issued. That's a nice number, IMHO.

Wow, that's impressive Jim. Congrats to all of those folks, especially the pillions! Quite sure my wife would never want to do that. ;)

Thanks, but I have no idea why we had so many Riders participating, but I'm not complaining !! I didn't do much "advertising" before the ride - just had the ride listed on the IBA Calendar, notified Riders via email that did past rides , and word-of-mouth too, I suppose. And maybe the great weather forecast was a factor, too. I was hoping to maybe see 30 Riders. I kept busy before the ride recording all the odo. readings. As usual, we had a nice mix of bikes and Riders. Had three ST1300's and my ST1100 in the group. Also notably, two KLR650's and a Burgman 400.

IBA Rides Starting / Ending in Michigan in 2016

I have two IBA Pre-Approved Rides ( so far ) planned for 2016.

The first on Saturday June 25th is a Lake Michigan SS1K

The other is a M-I-O SS1K ( Michigan - Indiana - Ohio ) on Saturday August 27th

Please check out the webpage for each for the details.

They should also be listed on the IBA Event Calendar in a few days.

Well, we had even a bigger turn out for the Lake Michigan SS1K ride this year than the Yooper Madness SS1K last year.

We had 61 Riders and 3 Pillions complete the ride. 41 new IBA numbers will be issued !!

Everyone had a good time, but the heat was a little brutal for the second half of the ride, until the sun set. Like between 87 & 92 degrees. But everyone stayed hydrated and got plenty of rest during the ride at the gas stops.

Two Dad's had their daughters as Pillions - 16 & 17 y/o.

That is awesome!! Can't think of any better father/daughter time than riding 1000 miles together.
