Voltmeter & Horn Install Question

I'm about to install a Stebel nautilus horn and plan to add a voltmeter on the same side since the tupperware will be off. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to tapping the voltmeter into the two wires I will be pulling from the battery (with an inline fuse) to provide power to the horn? Is there a better source of voltage to tap into on the right side of the bike? The voltmeter is a round waterproof model which will fit just below the glove compartment door.

If those are wires dedicated to the new horn and there isn't gonna be anything else on that circuit, it's probably a great circuit for your voltmeter - nothing else on all the time to draw down voltage (until you sound the horn.) Makes sense to me.

I like a 3-wire volt meter. Ground and sense go straight to the battery while the power is picked up off of the quartet's switched power. This way I know exactly what the battery is seeing. This is the guy I used. Working great so far.

Oops - just noticed you already had a meter. On a seldom used circuit, I also think your plan is solid.

Thanks for the advice. The horn circuit should be good as I doubt I will be checking the voltage while the Sebel is wailing. This is the meter I bought:

@Blitzen: I bought the same voltmeter, but haven't installed it yet. Where do you plan to put it?

I have checked it against a good quality multimeter, and it is spot on.
