Hi All,

time for a new rear tyre for Bertha. I usually buy BT020's but am having trouble sourcing them a reasonable price.

a few websites are suggesting that they are now being replaced by the BT021's...

"The new Battlax BT-021 is designed to provide a wide range of heavier sport touring motorcycles, from 600 cc to 1200 cc, with the highest possible levels of comfort at speed and an exciting feel through corners off the highway, in all conditions. Available in 5 front-wheel sizes and 7 rear-wheel sizes from January 2007, it will steadily replace the current Battlax BT-020."

I run a BT021 on the front, but don't want to go to one on the back as I know its designed for the bike...

anyone offer any thoughts, or suggest a website for the UK that offers reasonably priced BT020's?

thanks all

I echo Mike's opinion. The 021 is an old tire now and experience showed it did not wear well on the heavy ST1300. The BT 023 and T30 have released since the 021. The Bridgestone 023GT or T30GT would be logical choices and have been choices I've made and been happy with.

The 021 is the worst tire I have used on the ST1300, especially the front. Stick with the 020s if you have no other choice. So far I am very happy with the T30 GTs.

BT023GT is a far better tyre than the BT021 and the BT020 is now old tyre technology so not surprised your struggling to find one.

BT023GT, readily available and reasonably priced. I'm on my 3rd rear tyre and get c.9K miles out of it - front is c.15K. I need to put a new set for a trip into Europe and am toying with the idea of the T30GT, but to be honest I'm happy with the grip and wear of the BT023GT.

Cheers
