I'm giving it a go this year. Wish me luck, it sounds like I'll need it. Some seriously big dogs are back in after missing a few, including Jim Owen.

Good Luck! Don't worry about the old dogs, every dog has his day!

Awesome! Always more fun to follow along when there are a few forum members to root for. :)

Would like to get down to the checkpoint in TN...just not sure if I'll be able to sneak away.

Safe rally to you both!

Any checkpoints in the northeast? I always wanted to be around to see the action. The ironbuttrally.com web site does not list any locations or dates.

there is only 1 CP not at the start/end location this year listed. You can find the info on the iron butt forum.

Best of luck to Garry and Eric, have fun . . . but ride safe!

For those who might want to follow along for the next 12 days or so, here's some places online you might find interesting.

Here's the rally site, from which you can select to read the daily report by Chris Cimino and/or check out the SPOT showing all the rider locations. Note, identities are classified, but you can see where riders are. The Day 3 report is already up (there isn't any Day 1 or 2 reports that I know of).

Chris Sakala, a rally veteran is riding again this year and his wife, Nancy, will be updating his blog during the IBR. Could provide some insights.

The IB Magazine is posting pictures up on their Facebook site and you don't have to be a Facebook member to look at it. Probably the best source for pics.

Bob Rippy, another rally veteran has committed to posting rally pics on his blog for the Start, 1st Checkpoint and the Finish. He won't be at the 2nd Checkpoint, so no pics from him there.

Those are the ones I'm watching. Anyone have others to post up? Dale Wilson, AKA Warchild (IBR Tech Insp Director) had a great blog for the 2013 IBR on his FJR website, but I don't see anything there yet or I'm not looking at the right site.

I didn't think I'd miss being there preping for the Start as much as I am. I hope Garry and Eric achieve their goals, have fun and return home safely with great stories to tell.
