Rear m/c slight leak ST1100

47,000 mi rear master cylinder seems to be leaking a bit. Haven't narrowed down the precise location, possibly at the boot where the rod enters.
Would this typically require a new piston set/kit or just a good inspection and cleaning?

I would just throw a mc kit in it. Once, you're in there to clean, might as well put new seals in.

Have you seen much loss of fluid when monitoring the level in your rear reservoir?
(That's what I would be mainly inspecting if it were my ST.)
