Counting Days......I'd be counting minutes.

It's a shame you can't ride it home.....The coast is such a great ride.

Todd
I've done the Oregon and Northern CA Coast in the past. While nice (and cooler), I'll be going straight down the middle! :(

So I'm curious being new to the ST what is on a veterans mandatory farkle list?
In no particular order, here are a few I can think of...

  • Better seat
  • Handle bar risers
  • Heated gear (gloves, grips, jacket, vest, seat, etc.)
  • Top Box
  • Crash bars
  • Fork springs, rear shock
  • Waterproof GPS with the ability to import custom maps
  • Better/Different windscreen
  • Better lighting (front, brake, blinkers, etc)
  • Comm system such as a Sena
  • Power outlets
  • TPMS
  • Voltmeter
  • Thermometer for air temp
  • Cruise Control
  • Go dark (car tire on rear)
  • Go double dark (car tire on rear, mc rear tire on front)

I'm sure others with more experience can add to this. Enjoy! ;)

My take:

  • Better seat - RDL - There is no other!
  • Handle bar risers - Heli Gen III
  • Heated gear (gloves, grips, jacket, vest, seat, etc.) - don't have the grips, but thought of them.
  • Top Box - The Hondaline.
  • Crash bars - Integrated into the ST1100 & ST1300s
  • Fork springs, rear shock - Upgraded would be nice. I have a cop shock with really low miles that find it's way on the 2012.
  • Waterproof GPS with the ability to import custom maps - I have a water proof case that mine sits in.
  • Better/Different windscreen - VStream, on each of my bikes.
  • Better lighting (front, brake, blinkers, etc) - I run headlight modulators and 10W LEDs on the front.
  • Comm system such as a Sena - Autocom for me.
  • Power outlets In the riser
  • TPMS - nice to have, but I don't
  • Voltmeter _ I put one on my '05 (still there as far as I know, I do have a couple, just can't find a nice place to mount them where I can actually read it.
  • Thermometer for air temp - ST1300 comes with one, not sure if the ST1100 does.
  • Cruise Control - Vista throttle locks on all my bikes.
  • Go dark (car tire on rear) - Nah, not for me.
  • Go double dark (car tire on rear, mc rear tire on front) Nope!
  • Rear tire inside mudflap/Shock Protector -get from BikeQuip (UK)
  • Frame Protectors - BikeQuip
  • Thicker grips - Tried SharkSkins and the tube that fits over stock grips - wearout too fast for me. I've gone back to GripOns.
  • Tankbag (contains my Autocomm, Amp, GPS)
  • Small Convex mirrors
  • TankPad (protect the tank fro belt buckles)
  • FuseBlock - BlueSea for me!
  • MC Larry Highway Pegs
  • Dual Helmet holder under the Trunk
  • Air Deflectors for mirrors and lower fairings with knee pads.
  • Honda Quartet Harness
  • Radiator Guard
  • Saddlebag reflectors

Plans change sometimes when you least expect them to. So I'll have to wait a couple of weeks to go up and pick up my new ST1300. Chris was diagnosed with cancer and she will have an operation Thursday of next week, so I figured leaving the following Monday wouldn't be a good idea.

I'll probably do it around the middle of September, I'm shooting for September 17th - 18th time frame. We'll see how she does first!

Here's a couple of pictures of it.

I should run up to washington and grab it and store it in my garage tell he can get up here to get it. so it wont feel lonely in the dealership.
I'll stop by and visit it some time next week, give it a hug and let it know daddy will be here soon. :)

The only problem with that idea is that it would have a couple hundred miles on it before I could get it!

Actually I have heard that Honda requires you to pick up your bike in person...???

no it would only end up with about 10 miles, from spot i have to unload in beaverton back to my house, and i dont think they care who picks it up if you have paid for it.

So here's what we do... Meet me there, take delivery, ride it around the block, then fly back home, I show up in a day or two with your new ride ;)

That offer sounds so GREAT, but when I fly up there to get it, I'm riding it back home! lol

Once they get the check, I'll check with them and let you know.
