Can you let me know what the two knobs are for, that are pictured in the lower right and left of the image below.
I haven't been able to find any reference to them ...
Thanks,
Steve

They are individual left and right aiming for each lamp. Usually these are aligned pretty well. Up down tends to be too far down from the factory, the center bolt on the aiming motor.

btw how did you get the cover off the aiming motor, is it a snap fit of glued on?

Thanks for your reply.
My general question goes on to aiming the headlights. Can the left and right beams be adjusted horizontally as well as vertically?
There are lots of posts about bulbs and aiming vertically.

Sorry I didn't answer your question. I just copied and editted the image from another forum.
So ... the left and right lights can be aimed independently (vertical)
and using the motor moves them both.

Up and down is with the switch only. the knobs are for left to right only!

Two 'nuts' control the up down, the big knobs control left/right for the related bulb.

Use the knob on the dash and set them to the highest, adjust the bulbs to get the 'perfect' aim.

When carrying a heavier load, pillion, luggage, etc... the dash knob will let you lower the beam sinc3e the weight on the back of the bike will raise it.

There is a correction that needs to be made concerning the picture showing various adjustments. The headlight motor adjustment circled in yellow shows a screw head oriented at about 3 o'clock. The screw head will be pointed down at approximately 5 or 6 o'clock on your bike so it can be accessed from underneath the headlight and between the fork tubes.

On my bike I used the manual adjustment (yellow circle) to set the headlights about in the middle of the dash knob adjustment range so I have adjustment range to lower the beam with a passenger and still raise it when necessary like running with lots of preload or the rare event if riding long distance at night. I'll pick up some car or truck going my way at the speed I want and have to run low beam as I tag along about 75-150 feet behind and a few feet off to one side. I use the rabbit's headlights to extend the portion of illuminated road but I can't can't use my own high beam so I raise the low beam to see better.

Definitely, all good info to know.. I never messed with it too much, except playing with the grey knobs.
