I have replaced my 2005 ST with a 2015 NC700X DCT. I'll be spending my time now on http://www.nc700-forum.com. I honestly don't miss the shifting. I got the NC700X because although I loved my ST and put 15K on her in my three years of ownership it was too powerful and too heavy. I like back roads and a little tiny bit of gravel and that's not the sweet spot for me on the ST.

I can feel the sensation of speed and the thrill of a corner at 35 mph just the same on the NC as I did at 55 mph on the ST. Too much speed for me has never a good thing. I need a bike that will restrain me from passing cars on two lane country roads at 80 mph.

As it's now getting chilly in Ohio I already miss the full fairing and yes I miss the engine heat :)

I am also missing the plush suspension of the ST.

There are so many things about it and this forum that I'll miss.

Congratulations, but don't leave. There are a lot of us here that no longer own ST-1300s.

Hey, I'm over there too with a new DCT 700X. It's my second 700 - I bought 6 speed manual back in 2012. I don't plan on getting rid of the ST though.

Thanks for the suggestion to stay connected to ST-Owners.com. After all how can I forget as I put my NC700X DCT keys on my ST-Owners.com key chain and I re-purposed my ST-Owners.com license plate "Let's Ride" onto the new bike as well.
