I have been using 1.5" Powertye that have a soft loop built into the strap and safety latch hooks. My Stinger trailer has a locking wheel chock and I tie off at the lower triple tee and at the pillion hand holds. I compress the front and rear suspension several inches and I haven't had any problem with the cam locks on the straps loosening.

Thanks guys. Very helpful.

I bought the HF 1800 lb. Chock and some heavy duty 2500# loop straps. I have both cam lok and ratchet straps. I figure that is a good start and will do a dry run a few days before departure in case I need to reconfigure.

I know everyone knows this; but, remember to do a good job when you tie that rear wheel down.
I pull a ratcheting tie from tie down around the rear wheel and then to the final tie down.
The brother-in-law says he saw a bike rotate around a well tied down front wheel when a truck had to make an unscheduled stop in front of him.
He said the result wasn't pretty...
