I have a new Avon Storm at the back, at the front is a Michelin. Is this a good combination or is it best to match the brand? I will be changing the front perhaps next year .

well. I have ridden it with the Storm at back and the Michelin at front and it seems fine, I can't go fast or in the wet until the rear has done 100 miles dry (so I was told) . Seems OK.

Not that you CAN'T go fast, or ride in the wet, but more do not try to lean hard too much, wet or dry, or accelerate fast on a wet road. Reason being, if it wasn't explained to you, there is a slippery residue left on every tire when it comes out of the tire mould and it takes some miles to wear it off.
