Are you talking about the handlebar riser block?
I don't think it's common to increase the distance between the handlebars at all. Generally the kits raise the bars and change the angle of the grips slightly. Maybe that's what you're seeing. That might increase the distance between the ends of the grips slightly but I don't see that as moving them out to the sides. But we may be saying the same thing in different ways.So it would appear that the bar risers installed by a previous owner move the bars out to the sides as well as up... true? And if so, is this common for bar riser kits?
Nope, not worth a penny, but, being the great guy I am, I'll take it off your hands, and, being a magnanimous person, I'll even pay the shipping.......Hello STeam 13... I'm hoping for some more bar riser help.

I'm ready to lower my bars but hadn't considered that removing the riser block would move them in as well. I suppose I'm ok with it.
Any other consequences I should consider before I dive in? Any idea who made these? And are they worth anything if I were to try and sell them?
thanks!
Unless you have the stock mounting plate you can't remove the riser plate. So I took at look at my service manual
They are GenMar bar risers.Did you ever find out the brand on these? I have the same on mine and I want to change them.
Ohh.. unless you are talking the OP pictures, that's a MCL riser, Heli bar riser knock-off.
