Good Morning All

Like many here I seem to be ageing and along with that there are some issues :. Love my ST but have found that since I developed Degenerative disc disease in my neck and arthritis in my right shoulder, it seems that riding her around town and the associated starts and stops and manoeuvering around traffic and potholes just isn't as enjoyable. Have wanted to get a smaller bike for a while now and have read here about various dual purpose Suzukis/Kawasakis/Triumphs. However, I came across this Kawasaki......its a 2004 with 6000 miles on it and in near mint condition. Since my wife gave up work in 2014 due to health reasons and I just retired last month, Im still assessing the long term finances and don't want to get a loan for another bike. I have the $$ to pay for this one. I plan on keeping the ST for longer runs. Just cant part with her yet.

My question: Does anyone out there in ST land have any experience with these bikes?

Thanks!

this one is great!! http://cycle-ergo.com/ look up any bike enter your height and you will get a visual and knee, hip and forward lean angles you can compare a number of bikes at the same time.. punch your current bike in as a reference this way you have a base line to refer to..very easy

Old post, I know, but I've had a ZR7S for the last 6 years prior to the ST1300. I've got it set for touring, lots of farkles. No complaints. Sits a lot like the ST1300. Ask away if any of you have questions.

New to me, lightly farkled - more sporty.

Current - setup for daily commuting & touring.

2004 as well.

It's been a great bike to me. I've had it around New Brunswick, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire. She's even been atop Mt. Washington.

Family issues getting in the way of riding I can relate to as well.

As an aside I was in St. John's for the first time many many moons ago (in the 90's) for work. We rented a van and went up to Signal Hill for something to do. I had no idea what was up there (being in my 20's and naive) other than it should have a great view of the Atlantic.

Imagine my surprise when I saw Cabot Tower. I had a 35mm slide of a castle I'd loved for years and never knew what or where it was. Now, here it was in real life in front of me.
Well I had managed to get a fluorescent yellow, pre-loaded 110 film camera (similar to this but without a flash) 1576153239604.png
for free with a happy meal at McD's and I snapped away until the roll of 24 shots was empty.

Still have the photos and the memories.

Did you get the 550 and 1100 versions over there on the left side. I think the range was called "zephyr" here.

The Zephyr was short lived here. I don't know if they offered the 550 here. I had a 750. Nice little bike. Those and the 1100's did not sell well. In the USA everybody either wants a Harley cruiser or max power sport bike. Both of those Kawi's were replaced by the ZRX1100 which had a decent run because it had the ZX11 Ninja motor (detuned) in it.

110 mm film! That does go back a little ways!;) Glad you got a chance to visit. The place has changed so much since then. Big oil, big box stores, drugs and other social problems, condos everywhere. Weather still sucks at times!

You have done a bit of going. Mine has only 12000kms. I'd like to try it for short 1 or 2 overnight trips. Hopefully next year. :thumb:
