Two weeks ago, I tipped over on the rightside while coming to a stop at stopsign. Just plain lost balance and gravity took over where momentum failed

I rode it down, right leg on the peg, and the violence of the fall was awesome! No damage to the bike, but the owner got it bad. A broken rib, broken collarbone, and my big toe. Some bad contusions on my right leg, too. Knocked all the wind out of me, and the helmet took a hard knock on the pavement (but didn't ring my bell.) I'll ride again if my gawd awful back & rib pain ease a bit. Trying to sleep in a bed is agony,

Yikes! Goes to show you how well the STs are made and how the ole bodies aren't!

Sorry to hear it. I'll re-frame from my usual comments about not keeping it up...I don't want to make you laugh, because I know it would hurt!

Holy Cow! Hope you are feeling better! I can't believe that much damage (to you) from a tip-over! You must have light bones! I had to hit a car to break that much! My last tip-over got a little dirt on my elbow when I rolled off the pavement. Heal fast.

That's the way to do it.

I've always said (jokingly) "If you are going down, throw yourself under the bike. Bodywork cost money but skin grows back for free!"

Ouch! It sounds like you broke all the bones that are the most painful and most difficult to set. Heal fast....

Sorry to hear of your painful experience and hope you are back to normal and fully healed. Usually it is just the pride that gets hurt.

It's almost funny. Remember Artie Johnson (the Nazi) on Laugh in? riding a tricycle and stopping to tip over. Like that.

And then there are all the people who offer unsolicited advice about quitting riding. This is my first motorcycle get off in 40 years that require an ambulance. Quitting is not an option. I will get back in slowly, tho. Got a little 250# DR350 that will be my therapy bike.

still hurtin, but feeling better.

But, since you weren't riding, it's not about that... I would say..... my advise ... is to Quit Falling!

Hmmm.. wait, you were at a stop sign.... okay.. Quit Stopping..

Exactly what I thought of as I tipped over at a stop sign with a fully loaded for camping bike! Was even laughing at myself as I watched the guy in the car behind me stop. No person damage (or bike) though.

Witnessed a guy on a Harley pull up to a bar in front of a lot of other bikers, he was stylin and profilin, so much that he forgot to put his kickstand down. Mr. cool let go of his bike as he leaned it to the left and of course it continued downwards, the bad part is he was on the edge of a very steep hill which allowed his bike to continue sliding upside down about another 80 feet. This poor fool had to call a tow truck to pull his bike up that steep hill. (lot of expensive damage)
Sorry to hear you got hurt but------it could always be worse.
